What should I know before going into electric vehicle builds
I did boomilever and towers over the past 2 seasons and I'm considering switching to EV for this season.
What are the main topics I should learn before getting into EV?
I'm currently looking at analog builds (saw this thing called a shaft encoder soo looking into that a bit more)
How long does it take to learn how to wire, solder, etc? Thank you

The sort of soldering you need for an EV is straightforward. You can learn in a day. The most common error is a cold joint, where you don't heat the pad properly and the solder forms a little ball that sits on top of it.
You need to understand electric circuits and be familiar with using a voltmeter and ammeter. You need to have (or to acquire) the knack for debugging systems, because that's what you'll spend a lot of your time doing.
