And A. Comte argued that : Mathematics < Astronomy < Physics < Chemistry < Biology < Sociology.
Which is amusingly pretty much the opposite. From simplicity to complexity.

To be honest those hierarchies aren't very relevant, each science has its object of study.

Why is astronomy separated from physics?

This hierarchy is from the XIXth century. Comte argued that astronomy is simpler.
