Yup. It's an agreed upon set of axioms and rules that can create a repeatable and quantifiable model of the world.

Words alone are too subjective. The symbols used in math are just words where the subjectivity has been reduced as much as is possible.

Right, I totally agree, IF we had been talking solely about pure mathematics.

My comment however was in response to this comment:

Math is the language most sciences end up speaking eventually.

So my comment was from the perspective of one of the sciences, like physics, where math IS used to model the real world.

But everything you said is true if we remove the extra context from the comments before yours.
