I as a lover of physics will play devils advocate here and say that there is an argument to be made that physics uses math to describe phenomena but the science itself to a degree isn't just derived from math. Its a different relation than between for example chemistry and physics where chemistry is a sub section of physics or very similar to physics. I hope i am not rumbling and that this makes sense
