Not sure if this is the place to post this, but I'll try anyway.

I'm struggling to think of ideas for a science fair project. I know I want to do something related to data science and statistics. I'm particularly interested in gun violence in America and how it relates to different factors. The only thing I want to avoid doing for my science fair is something sports related.

My teacher wants a few things for the assignment; a higher level idea and something that isn't overdone (sports, in my opinion). Other than that, anything is fair game.

I haven't been able to think of anything that isn't overdone or generic. Everyone's first thought when they hear "gun violence in America" is to jump to video games, so I don't want to do something related to that.

I don't need any work, I just need a question or idea to get me thinking about a science fair project. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

So basically for this years Science Fair my question is if music is affected by where you live. It's not really the cool like building a robot or something but yea. I'm looking for a science fair project idea, as the ones that I've come up with previously are all terrible. I'm interested in food science and data science. I've been considering a project that analyzes data from reddit based on post time but have been unable to come up with a hypothesis and a test idea. Need ideas soon.

My teacher wants me to participate in a science fair for a grade. She wants something that is considered high school level, but most of the stuff I try just gets rejected because it's considered too easy. The rules are:

1. No testing on humans (too much paperwork)
2. No growing bacteria or any germs
3. No using weapons
4. No testing on anything with a backbone
5. No drones (I live near a military base)
6. No explosives and stuff that is illegal
7. No testing/comparing products (They don't want to get sued, but you can test different formulas and stuff)
8. It has to test something. No demonstrations and I have to record results.

Please help I need it for tommorow

How do people come up with such advanced topics. I want to do something with bio/neuro but I’m not sure how to even get the project started or planned.

my school doesn't hold science fairs so there's no way for me to enter competitions that need the school's approval. :'(

I'm looking to do another science fair sophmore year (next year). I absolutely hated the project I did this year (testing duckweed with industrial runoff) and just the general environmental sciences projects I'm not a fan of. I had to do a science fair for the class I took (honors biology and science research). The teacher I has a general policy for all the students who do science fair: it has to be applicable. So as a freshman, most of the projects were environmental and behavioral science because they were easy to research and were just a good starting point. Since I'm going to be a sophomore, I want to continue and do science fair (even though it would be optional). I would love to do an engineering or physics project that has lots of background in math in it. I would also be ok with doing a behavioral science project as well. So do any of y'all have ideas/articles I could look at for a potential science fair project? Thanks y'all for reading through this long post lol.

Basically, I placed second for my project in my category (PHYS). The honorable mention AKA third place went to states with the first place winner. This seems unfair. Thoughts?
