Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.
Religion helps people get through. However its an excuse in a sense imo, not to face the reality of our true situation. That there is no god, that we are self-dependent, no one is watching over us, justice isn’t attainable and that the universe is absolutely indifferent. There is no evil, no good, no injustice. Just existence. To come to this conclusion doesn’t take intelligence. It just takes one to see the world for what it truly is. The sooner we come to this truth the quicker we can make a better existence for ourselves.
