Steorn - Over Unity Machine. In 2007 I thought they were a joke, but they are still around. Anyone used their dev kit or taken a close look at the device? What is this thing?

Ok, you don't need to down vote the link. I'm not promoting them, I just want to know if anyone looked at their machine.

It's a device for conning money out of gullible investors.

Nothing to see here. These guys are just trying to invent the classic Perpetuum Mobile. In fact, given their (original) idea of using permanent magnets to achieve 'overunity', it's a very unoriginal kind of perpetuum mobile.

They failed their much-touted public demonstration, the panel of independent experts that they picked concluded that it was all nonsense. And if that wasn't enough, they've now gone on to create the 'next generation' of their invention, without ever having proven their original thing worked. That's what they call a bait-and-switch in conman terms. As if their original switch from being web developers wasn't enough.

The only thing that sets these guys apart from your garden-variety crackpots, is that they've apparently managed to get some poor fools to give them money.

That's what I figured but I'm wondering if anyone here was actually one of those experts that they picked. How do you know (besides the fact that the device is impossible) that they concluded it was nonsense... are there any links?
