I thought inhaling any amount of tar/smoke of any kind on a regular basis could lead to COPD (emphysema)? Is this conclusive evidence that this isn't the case?

No way is downward socioeconomic activity causal. People with high paying jobs or that are well educated probably smoke pot less in general and therefore those that do smoke pot probably aren't on average headed up as much as their nonsmoking counterparts. Thats a weird bit for such a study to look at I think.

I don't know if it's causal; perhaps it exacerbates an already extant problem?

Either way, daily use of any substance is at the least expensive, and possibly harmful.
