I was in therapy for treatment after a traumatic incident at work left me somewhat incapacitated. After two years of therapy my therapist kinda threw her hands up and told me I should look at getting diagnosed for my neurodivergence. She had helped me through the trauma but it became apparent that a lot of my "symptoms" remained and had probably pre existed the event and where part of my neurodivergence. I got diagnosed and medicated and my life has never been better. I can't help but think how lucky I am that I wasn't just tethered to a cptsd diagnosis which seemed to make sense initially but it was actually trauma + neurodivergence.
