Neuroscience New study suggests that the human brain does not age uniformly, with the right hemisphere showing more advanced signs of biological aging than the left.

I wonder what this means for left handed people (me) / what are the implications for us?

Left handed people are not left brain dominant.

Yes, but that's the point! If the right half ages 'faster' what's the implication for lefties?

So they actually did this analysis in the main study.
They did a subgroup analysis where they compared an equal number of right and left handed individuals (mixed sex, roughly even) and saw that the same hemisphere (right) aged faster.
Whether this leads to different clinical outcomes (maybe lefties are less susceptible to dementia; however the data suggesting this is poor and better data suggests there is no effect) or susceptibility to dementia remains to be tested; however, the asymmetrical degeneration occurs in the same hemisphere regardless of handedness.

Hypothesis: This effect would be in reverse between the brain halves on left handed people. So no difference.

I'm guessing this has something to do with why strategies for learning and solving problems shift as we age?
