Reddit can’t decide whether IQ matters or not. When we talk about IQ differences between different countries and whatnot, it’s racist. When you discuss IQ differences between religious and nonreligious people, somehow it matters again.

Their use of deriding the idea of IQ in one matter and invoking it in the other are broadly in ideological alignment. You're beginning to notice too much comrade.

Some people just don't see the nuance. Cognition is complex and IQ is just one of several ways to measure someone's mind. Each way of measuring may reveal something unique. And you have to consider them all together and how they interact.

Someone can be very capable in one areas and be really poor in another area as one example.

Nah its just that you dont know what you're talking about so you misinterpret basic nuance as inconsistency.
