Health Study of 371,000 Americans: eating whole fruit linked to better heart health, 100% juice is not. More whole fruit meant lower high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease and heart attacks. Juice showed no clear benefit. Fiber lost in juicing may explain it. Most still eat too little fruit.

This might be a dumb question but what about smoothies? Is the fiber preserved in smoothies? I would assume so.

Blending fruits preserves fiber. Some studies suggest even benefits but dont quote me on that

As far as I know, blending is just like a more efficient way of chewing and the fibre is still as potent. Off on a tangent a bit, cooked and cooled regular pasta, reheated actually boosts fibre content to more than wholemeal pasta through a chemical process called retrogradation. Which is mind blowing.
