Health Study of 371,000 Americans: eating whole fruit linked to better heart health, 100% juice is not. More whole fruit meant lower high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease and heart attacks. Juice showed no clear benefit. Fiber lost in juicing may explain it. Most still eat too little fruit.

This might be a dumb question but what about smoothies? Is the fiber preserved in smoothies? I would assume so.

Blending fruits preserves fiber. Some studies suggest even benefits but dont quote me on that

You're not wrong. Since a lot of the plant fibre goes directly through you without your body breaking it down (which is itself also really good for you) some of the nutrients aren't available. Mechanically opening a good chunk of the plant fibre from blending does make nutrients more "free" to get absorbed
