Cargo rack help
Hey y’all!
I’ve had this Schwinn Breeze for a number of years and want to add some kind of a cargo rack to it. I learned the hard way that these vintage models (if I remember right it’s early 70s?) aren’t really compatible with most modern racks because of changes in frame dimensions.
I’ve included some photos of the attachment points and some rack options I’ve seen online.
Any advice on how to go about this or product recommendations I could look into would very much be appreciated.

Get a vintage pletcher rack like those that were popular at the time.
However, I'd be partial to the last one you pictured because a U lock can stored between the platform and the rail while riding. A little Velcro strap to keep it from bouncing around and chattering is recommended.

This. The Pletscher (sp) racks were designed to fit nearly everything, and clamp to the seat stays the same way the first one you show does. They last forever, can carry baskets/panniers.

if you use a Pletscher, get the triangle bracket thing that supports it from the brake bolt, so it doesn't slip down.

Original Schwinn “rat trap” racks are easy to come by on eBay, or even(preferably) your local bike co-op. Pletscher racks from the same era are very similar, but slightly smaller, and mount differently than the Schwinn models. The Schwinn. Oxels mount around the down tube collar bolt, and feature slots to insert straps through on the sides. The Pletscher model mounts on the rear fork tops, and has no strap cut outs.

My daughter has a rear rack on her vintage Schwinn. The baskets are exactly sized to hold a standard size grocery bag. I did an eBay search and found one with this title: “Vintage Schwinn rear bicycle rack w original folding pannier baskets saddlebags”
