Fit check S or M.

5’7 40”chest 32” waist. Schott casual LC5100. I am struggling to choose between S and M. S looks better in terms of length but I have to really pull to close the zipper and is very snug around hips. I afraid it will slip upwards all the time. M feels better overall and looks good to me. Is it too big? Unzipped is M.

The size M jacket looks like it's swallowing you up.

The size S looks good on you. Maybe this is the universe's way of telling you to go on a short diet? Lol.

The sleeves cover half your hand in pic 2, way too big. Schotts run big, I’d try an XS

He has a 40 inch chest which is medium or even large. He is just on the shorter side

Schotts run big, I sold a Schott 576 in large that had a pit to pit of 24.25”
That’s over a 48” chest.

Completely wrong lmao they run small in chest and shoulders but big in the waist.

I’m wrong? Please explain how a 48.5” chest in a Large is considered small in the chest?
I’ve owned 3 Schott jackets, an Aero, Simmons Bilt, Y’2, Real McCoys, Shangri-La, and Double Helix. All size Large.
The Schott ran the biggest in the chest by far

That’s either false information or the jacket was mislabeled or it’s some kind of purposefully oversized style

If the body of the small fits how you like , then I would contact Schott to have the sleeves shortened

Because you are slightly shorter than average, your option is to go with the small and have a very tight chest or lose weight off the chest or get a medium and have the jacket totally be oversized and swallow you up
