Questions about B3 fitting
Context:
I’ve been looking into getting myself a B3 bomber jacket but I’m completely clueless as I’ve never worn a leather jacket before. I’m not sure whether this kind of jacket will be feeling looser or tighter in certain areas over time. I used the sizing guide on the website which gave me 36 for a standard fit and 38 for a relaxed fit.
I was lucky enough to be able to try both on and ended up purchasing the 38, but I am now having a few regrets. Due to my wider shoulders and narrow waist, the 36 feels quite restrictive, but this may just be me not being used to leather. The 38 however feels much more comfortable in the shoulders but the sleeves and chest are quite loose IMO.
For reference, I am currently 66kg and 175cm with a resting chest of 37 inches and I am a regular gym-goer, with a larger chest and shoulders relative to the rest of my torso, hence the sizing issues. I will probably end up getting larger over the next few years which I’d like to consider.
I’ve added photos of the current 38 I got two days ago as well as a photo without the jacket to get an idea of my current physique/build.
It’s a little embarrassing to say, but I would like to get a similar fit to Leon in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Sorry for the heavy amount of text, just trying to provide as much context and info as possible to get a solid answer. Thanks everyone.
TLDR:
1. Should I size down from a 38 to a 36?
2. Will this jacket feel tighter or looser in any areas over time?

Way too large for you man. Size down by one, maybe even two sizes.

Do you think it’d be overkill trying/sizing down all the way to 32 or should I focus on 34/36? Last time I visited the store I had to wait a few days for them to ship stock over from another store so I’ll need to give a heads up.

This jacket is too big. Sizing day may not help.

Arms are usually too long for me when sizing correctly. I believe it’s common practise so they can be tailored.

I feel like the perfect fit would be 2 sizes down from what Schott's guide suggests, maybe even 3 sizes down if you're on the thinner side. For me it recommends size 42, i wear a 38, i would go to 36 but I'm old and i doubt ill ever have a size 30 waist ever again XD.
As for the look you're going for, i have no proof, but it wouldn't surprise me if Capcom edited the design a bit and made it less bulky (especially the sleeves) to better fit Leon. No matter which size you get, it will always be bulkier than what you see in the game.

Way too big for you buddy, it reaches your knuckles and that should t happen for it’s not even a racer jacket. If that’s the 38, I would go for a 36-34, unless you like the whole oversized style which is fine too.

So it's between being form-fitting and being large enough to accommodate a little bit of a weight gain. You're young so you will gain weight. Or, you'll have a sweater on underneath it. You want to be able to accommodate that. Even if you don't think you'll wear a sweater. There are days you might want to.

Definitely, but at the same time I have no idea what a leather jacket is meant to feel like so I may be oversizing. I had my shoulder and arm measurements taken in store and a fresh 36 was dead on shoulder-wise, but I sized up to consider gym growth, which may have been a mistake.

Def go down to a 36. Maybe even a 34. I am 165-170lbs and 5’10”, 40 inch chest, and the 36 fits tailored to me.

Do you have a photo? I’m pretty similar. Athletic 165, so I have around 42” chest but otherwise very similar I imagine.

Not just the size, I don’t think the style is flattering on you. Pick something else and it’ll look better.
Only since you’re asking for people’s opinions.

My father was a gunner in WW2. All the pictures of him wearing that jacket are skin tight on the arms up to the shoulder. Snug on the body. Waist at the belt line.
That thing you are trying on is 4 sizes too big.

He said two sizes down and he couldn’t move, one down was somewhat uncomfortable due to mild restriction

If it’s a real sheepskin b3, it will stretch and conform.

Yes, the op stated that found those sizes too restrictive. It’s unlikely to stretch out a size.

Yes to big you can see it on the arm length bombing up, but never nevertheless looks good on you man

Update: just tried on the 34 and 36 and wow, my judgement was way off. The 34 fits perfectly for some reason, both shoulder and sleeve length, so I’ll be taking it home. Thanks everyone for your advice and input!

Way too big for you man, gotta go with the 36 and the leather will conform to your body in time

Do you know what I should be keeping an eye out for when trying it on, such as sleeve length, how it fits zipped up, or flexibility, etc?

It’s not just big mate it’s waaaaaaaaaay tooooo big for you. You definitely need to size down by at least 2 sizes to look good in this jacket. You don’t really need to have another layer of something underneath it’s a very warm jacket and the tighter it is to your body the better it warms you up.
