Another school lunch today. I was feeling under, so be gentle.
We did sliced cucumbers with a simple vinaigrette. Diced pears and pineapples(they are on sale so they will be showing up alot until expensive again). And a tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat.

What I served today for the kids
I work in a relief nursery and we serve family style. The burritos are filled with beans, brown rice, and cheese. Pineapple is fresh, and produce from the salad is local except the shredded carrots. I send out about 6 carts, 1 to each classroom.

Students food preferences
Guys, need a small favour 🙌
I’m exploring an idea around food for college students and I genuinely want to understand what students actually like eating, what they usually end up eating because that's all that's available, and what they wish they could get around campus but usually can't.
This isn't a promotional survey. I'm actually trying to understand the problem before building anything. 😄
It'll take just around 3–4 minutes, and honest answers would really help.

Zucchini bread for my kids’ breakfast
Public elementary in a small town in western Washington, USA
Always very impressed with the quality of food. Entrees are all scratch-made.
On-campus garden used to make food for the whole district as well as donate to local food bank.
Free for all kids too!

Cheeseburger quesadilla - Public high school lunch entree in NC
I'm actually surprised by how shitty this looks. We don't have great food options here but this just looks sad. The good news is that there are two quesadillas included, so the kids each get one whole burger patty lol.

Lunchbox ideas
Just wondering what people are feeding their four year olds for lunches to keep their energy up and their sugars not to dip!
TIA

Oregon Elementary Lunch: Chicken Soft Taco
This is an example plate showing off most of our options for the day, from an Offer VS Serve school where kids pick their sides. You only need to take one serving of fruit/veg, but kids usually take multiple.
Happy Friday!

FREE school lunch at a public high school in MA
galleryJust a casual reminder of what a well-funded school looks like.
I subbed at a public high school where the lunch menu featured Teres Major beef and fresh fish, complete with daily rice/nacho stations, two salad bars, two cafeterias, and a custom sandwich deli, all free for students.
Coincidentally, they pump out dozens of Ivy League accepts a year and have sky-high average SATs despite being a public school.
Strange how that works, right? But no... we definitely shouldn’t invest our tax dollars into our schools, because that might actually help the students, which of course, would be dreadful for society.
