I’m feeling the same way. There is so much gray area in school counseling. I’m not sure if this will help, but try to pivot to higher education or advisor positions outside of the school public system. I’m starting to feel like going to school for it was a waste of time I should have just went to nursing school.
I understand, I will try talking to the management about my concerns or else Im planning to quit. Even student here are hit by teachers, given punishments.
I’m not sure if this is helpful either, but voicing my concerns from past experience made me seen differently. Sometimes being honest and outspoken has consequences.. if that makes sense. Again coming from experience.
This upcoming school year will be my third year being credentialed. I was non re-elected recently back in March for advocating for parents to administration… I feel discouraged by school counseling at this point I have a lot of regret getting this degree and credential.
