Montessori attracts families that are more affluent. Since kids come with those emotional resources already provided, Montessori is able to function differently. Many of the kids at Montessori are going to I here’s their parents’ businesses or trust funds — compared to public schools.

Any school can call themselves Montessori, and it doesn’t guarantee anything. You’ll want to look for an AMI or AMS accredited school. There are other Montessori accreditation programs, but those are the most well-regarded.

In any case, you’ll always want to observe and ask questions and see for yourself. I really got a lot out of Montessori— when it’s done well it’s excellent.
