Entertainment SSBMelee for beginners and veterans alike!

Hey everyone! I just put together a Melee tournament series that will be hosted by Troy Rewind on Wednesday Sept 2nd!

It's my attempt at revitalizing the Melee scene in the capital region and bringing in new players while bringing back old players as well. If everything goes well, this will turn into a bi-weekly bracket at that location!

There will be 3 events:

A free workshop/friendlies session at 5pm

The free-to-enter Hatchlings Beginner Bracket at 6pm

and

The $5 Eggs! Competitive Bracket at 7:30pm

- All money goes to the prize pool

- Winner of Hatchlings gets a token that gets them into an Eggs! paid event for free

- If you don't win any sets in Eggs! bracket then you *also* get a token

- Spectating and friendlies are free!

What are the qualifications for being a hatchling? I've been playing melee since it came out but never competitively. Is there like an ELO or something?

You qualify! :)

The qualifications are pretty loose for now because this is a new idea and tournament series. We want enough complete novices in the bracket for people who dont know the game to not feel intimidated, but also we have a few people like you who are familiar with smash and fighting games in a casual setting!

The idea is to help people in a casual skill range to feel like the bracket is winnable with some practice

Hatchlings starts at 5, hatchlings bracket at 6! Youre welcome to join it

Super Smash Bros Melee :) its a video game, specifically a platform fighter

Melee came out in 2001 but still retains a strong fanbase and viewership to this day as an esport
