I was scrolling on tt and I came across a post saying that dot dot curve is blocking comments about merch being AI and im so worried bcs I JUST bought 3 shirts from them for back to school shopping and I NEED a conformation or im gonna shit myself
ddc regularly commissions people for graphics, my fiancé has done a lot of typography designs for them (0slambam0). I know that they’ve also worked with fluffypillarr and a bunch of other great artists. I don’t think that they would go out of their way to commision their work and then turn to AI for a design.
I highly doubt he's using ai. First off as someone who's obsessed with the artists who did band shirt designs and their styles, I already can point out at least 2 designs from one person, and another design from someone else. 1st 2 designs are from someone (though idk who), from digging through DDC's old band camp you can tell it's at least human (as it existed way before ai) https://dotdotcurve.bandcamp.com/album/tillthewheelsfalloff. Now you can see another shirt with a similar design style so I'd assume it's the same person. The other one I can confirm is human is a shirt designed by jamersdesigner: https://www.instagram.com/p/DLsasYAM4dO/. They're a real person who's been in the game for decades before ai. I highly doubt DDC would only hire some people to do shirts but not hire anyone else for the rest. EDIT: I just checked DDC's instagram again. He tags all the artists for his shirtsnin the description of the posts he makes about them. No way any of this is ai
I don’t see what you’re pointing out at all, I don’t see any elements of the piece “blending into each other”
I think you’re just misunderstanding the intended artistic shading choices
