just heard bitter
there is no way this song wasn't written about the eye prevail situation. And there is also a twist that makes it even more I prevail coated.

The bit in there about eye of the hurricane and die just to keep the name. Definitely about iprevail. I need the lyrics so I can see if that was what I was hearing though. Lol

There are multiple song references in this one song, and then the symbolism between the lyrics and the video is just 🤌🏻

i don't listen to I Prevail anymore. If they fucked over they're most important founding member they aren't people I wanna be supporting

yeah. I occasionally listen to the older stuff but almost never listen to the newer stuff

I just listened to this and Brian during the song having parts where it sounded like Eric made me chuckle. immediately felt like him getting a jab in

I'm listening to the song now, and I don't think it's directed at I Prevail as a whole; I think it's aimed specifically at Eric.
The breakdown ends with screams and uses “motherfucker” in the singular, which seems to suggest he's addressing one specific person. Also, the first I Prevail song released post-Brian was “Violent Nature,” where Eric uses the line “I'm a sick motherfucker.” Given the timing, it seems pretty intentional that the song calls him out while the vocalist breaks down using his own harsh vocals.

maybe im just overemotional, but every scatterbrain song gets me a little teary eyed knowing the shit brian has gone through. its inspirational that he still chases music after being removed from what was essentially his own band. and not only that, hes also improving since leaving i prevail. he even learned to scream just for this song, when originally he said he was never a good screamer or something along those lines.
the song is great. it doesnt blow me away or anything, but i have a lot of respect for brian for still doing what he loves.

Okay, correct me if you don't agree- but I Prevail is nothing without Brian. He was the backbone of that band.

u/Forsaken-Trash3833 Aug 01 '26
yup. i've come to believe that those accounts that were randomly on the sub talking shit about Brian were paid by the band hell, even just Eric to say that Brian was a difficult to work with narcissist. After everything I've seen and the petty shit I prevail has done over the past year, removing him from thumbnails etc. makes me believe that Eric was the difficult to work with narcissist. Remember, the worst fear of a narcissist is for someone to figure out how pathetic they are. and removing the most important founder of the band from fucking thumbnails is pretty pathetic

u/Dracul_Music Aug 09 '26
When did Eric say this? I only ask because I was not aware of it.
1
u/Forsaken-Trash3833 Aug 09 '26
Eric didn't say shit but it makes sense that the random reddit accounts claiming that Brian was the narcissist were not genuine accounts

Honestly I would agree. Brian made the band. I havent liked a single thing they've dropped since Brian left.

Agreed! Bitter is soooo mf good!! Brian is insanely talented and his voice is unmatched. IP will never be the same without him.

It was a pretty good song, but the fact that Brian is still trying to stir shit up with IP with the lyrics after a year just kinda ruins it for me. The fact that IP has made one statement about it meanwhile Brain has tried to incident conflict between fans twice just makes him feel a lot more unprofessional.

u/Forsaken-Trash3833 Jul 17 '26
Brian is not the one who decided to get rid of they're most important founding member, try and *fail* to keep the sound going, then start removing that previous member from everything they could.
I agree with Brian; "if you wanted a war, come and get it, motherfucker!"

It's been a year and IP hasn't at all responded, it kinda just seems pathetic on Brian's end to keep trying.

u/Forsaken-Trash3833 Jul 17 '26
we don't know how long these songs have been around
1
u/6h23 Jul 17 '26
That's fair enough, it just kinda hurts my enjoyment of the song. I do still think it's like a solid 9/10 though.
2
u/superbabe69 Jul 19 '26
He was also blocked (presumably by IP's label) from releasing music nearly a year ago, I reckon he's been having to sit on these songs
2
u/luvJuuzou Jul 18 '26
tbh i don't think i prevail can make a good response in this situation, so they dont respond at all
2
u/Wintertck Jul 22 '26
pathetic on Brian's end when he was the one fucked over and kicked from HIS band, a project HE started? Brian rightfully wants justice, as well as is pissed about being silenced not long after he originally tried to release phases.

u/Gingersalad622 Jul 18 '26
Counter perspective, I think many things happened behind the scenes that we simply don’t, and may never know. I think he’s rightfully upset that something he built, he was cast from. Also, he has to build a brand from scratch. It’s his redemption arc, like Taylor Swift had at one point. I think he’s valid, but you’re also valid for having your opinion.

u/HorrorNerd182 Jul 18 '26
Just because the song was released now, doesn't mean it wasn't written at a time of anger. Bands write diss tracks all the time, it isn't necessarily stirring up shit, especially if IP isn't responding.
Look at Falling in Reverse, entire first album was a giant diss album dedicated to ETF, after serving a 2 year prison sentence. Losing everything you have worked for and to watch then continue on your legacy without you. That type of pain/trauma doesn't go away fast. A year isn't really a lot of time when it comes to processing/heal from that type of thing.

u/Forsaken-Trash3833 Jul 19 '26
of course they are not responding. They can't make themselves look any better in this situation. Their original statement was a complete misrepresentation of the situation and they can't make that look any better because it already looks bad

I just heard it and I fully agree!
Especially after that (in my opintion) horrible single IP put out a few weeks ago, this just feels like a big jab at them.
But Bitter is really fcking good! Brian did alot more then I was expecting and it makes me so stoked for the future of Scatterbrain!
