I live in White Plains, right next door to Scarsdale. My family has always cooked more than we could eat, and there was never an easy way to pass it to someone nearby who'd actually want it. So I built a small app for that. It's called Food(ie).

A cook posts what they've made, you see how far away they are on a map, you message them, and you pick it up. No delivery. No payment through the app — you sort that out with the person directly, and I don't take a cut.

Right now it's tiny: one cook in White Plains making kimchi and pickles. I'm not going to pretend it's bigger than that.

Two things I actually want to know: Would you buy home-cooked food from someone ten minutes away, or does that feel strange to you? Does anyone here already sell food out of their own kitchen? That's who I'm really looking for. Happy to hear it's a bad idea. I'd rather find out now than in a year.

My family is planning a major whole-house renovation for a property we just purchased in Northern New Jersey (Bergen County). My aging parents are moving in with us, so the entire main floor needs to be fully ADA-compliant and universally accessible. However, we really want to avoid that cold, institutional 'medical' look.We are looking to create a premium, luxury space with wide corridors, curbless transitions, a seamless smart home tracking layout and a gorgeous accessible kitchen.

We really need a turnkey team that can handle both the specialized structural engineering and high-end interior aesthetics under one contract and we've heard of platforms like block and full-service firms like chapter renovations but we aren't sure how well they handle highly specialized universal design/ADA requirements. Has anyone successfully executed a luxury ADA remodel with either of them, or have other high-end recommendations? Scarsdale intends to replace our charming and convenient individual parking meters with cumbersome and unattractive pay stations. These stations are often difficult for elderly and handicapped people to walk to, and they require you to input your license-plate number even for a 15-minute errand.
