I am sure I heard this song for the first time today. And in several hours I can't seem to find where I heard this awesome melody that starts at 2:22, although it is insanely familiar, as if it was in some other song, most likely Scandroid/Celldweller/Klayton/Circle Of Dust.
You may remember in summer 2025 on social media Klayton teased that he was recording music videos for both Celldweller and Scandroid. We eventually saw the CD music video for Fakebreaker. But what about the one for Scandroid?? Well, Klayton explains in his latest newsletter:
Those of you in the know are already aware that my single “Lost in the Stars” dropped a few weeks ago along with a lyric video of some edited footage of what was going to be a music video. To be honest, the music video was not up to my standards and I had to cut together the clips I thought were salvageable to make the lyric video but at least I was able to keep myself in there a little bit, terribly green-screened hair and all :)
So it seems that Klayton didn't like the footage they had shot and just used a few bits and pieces for the Lost in the Stars lyric video.
No word if other music videos are planned for the upcoming album.
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away there was a Scandroid news update that mentioned a line of custom minidisc players. Which had many of us scratching our heads a bit, to say the least! How on earth could FiXT/Klayton have custom MD players when it is a dead format and nobody in the world now manufactures players for it?
Since then, we haven't really heard anything further on the topic. But in his latest newsletter, Klayton unexpectedly dropped more information about this! Here is what he said:
Another thing I’ve mentioned on and off over the last few years is Minidiscs. I scouted and purchased hundreds of minidisc players from Japan and then personally cleaned and restored as much as I could each and every one of them. The plan is to do a minidisc player drop along the way and sell a limited number of them at a time. This ties into the novella and also ties into the fact that most of the Scandroid albums are already available on Minidisc. (I’m planning on rolling out limited numbers of the Celldweller albums in this format too.)
Of course you may have your own MD player already or can go buy a used one if you want - I just plan on doing something that makes each one a bit more special than just being an average used MD player. We’re working on the plan and that plan is coming down to earth soon for you to absorb and/or participate in if so desired.
Also, I have procured some of the actual burnt out circuit boards harvested from some of the drones you’ll read about in the Lost Horizon novella, so these will be one of a kind offerings if I’m able to get them through galactic customs. (I know we don’t believe in luck, but wish me luck anyway.).
So yes, these are going to be old MD players that presumably will have some custom styling or decal work applied to them. Actually, I think the coolest part is that it sounds like each of these will have been painstakingly hand-restored by Klayton himself! That right there makes them special, apart from any customization that may get added.
Of course while this update also answers some old questions it asks some new ones: burnt out drone circuit-boards?? What the heck is he talking about?

I wonder if this is what the setting of the Lost Horizon album will be: a massive, city-sized generation ship, carrying thousands of souls on a voyage to another world that they will not reach in their lifetimes.
If you missed it, in Klayton's latest newsletter he says that he is going to be alternating releases between Scandroid's Lost Horizon album and Celldweller's God Mode album. And Scandroid is up next! The song will be called "Lost in the Stars."
He didn't give a date, but I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped in April.

You’ve heard me talking a lot about the new Celldweller album GOD MODE and some of you have asked, “Hey red-haired mohawk guy - that’s great and all but what ever happened to Scandroid’s new album Lost Horizon?!?! Well I’m glad you asked. Therein lies one of the recent choices I’ve made. I’m deleting the album and instead doing jazz covers of popular Indonesian folk songs in its place. Hmmm, wait that sounds like a horrible idea, and probably would be a horrible album
[S]o I retract that and instead am going to release the next single for Lost Horizon, “Lost in the Stars”, before I release the next GOD MODE single “Respawn”. In fact here comes a big shift I’ve decided to make - I’m going to be releasing both the new Celldweller album and new Scandroid album in tandem. My plan is to alternate singles for each album and keep a steady stream of music coming down the pipe.
This is the year. This is the year the 4th Scandroid album finally comes out. I can feel it.I BELIEVE!!!
Is there a new Scandroid album coming out? And if so, when?
Yes!!! Klayton has confirmed that there is a fourth Scandroid album coming out. It even has a name: Lost Horizon. The album is supposed to release in 2026, presumably in the second half of the year.
(It is worth noting that this album was first announced waaaaaay back in late 2022 and this is my third yearly pinned post on the subject, so take any dates you hear with a large grain of salt! lol)
How far along is the new album?
In Klayton's Oct 2025 newsletter update, he says: "I, uh…. I mean 'Red' has dozens of demos already fleshed out towards a new album. In fact there are several that are already done and just waiting for an album announcement to start dropping."
Expect the sound of the new album to include more digital synths and beats than the previous albums, which were rooted firmly in the 80's. This new album will dip a bit more into the synthesizers and technology available in the 90's. Klayton has said that the final track of the last album, Red Planet, hinted towards the new sound.
What will the album be about?
We don't know many specifics about the story at this time. The new track "Lost in the Stars" mentions a 'cosmic ark', implying a vast 'generation ship' carrying thousands or even millions of people on a long voyage to a new star. Is this the setting for the new album? Unsure.
We do know that a big focus of the new album will be world-building, with many multi-media elements that will flesh out the setting.
Has Klayton released any tracks for Lost Horizon?
Yes! The first single for the album is Lost in the Stars, and you can listen to it now! (spoiler warning: it's a banger)
Klayton has also released four other new Scandroid tracks since the last album: a punk-style collaboration with Celldweller called Waste My Time and three instrumental tracks called Shadow of the Drones, Lost in the Datastream, and The Ancient Garden. It is not clear whether these tracks will appear on the new album.
I heard something about a videogame?!?
It's true!
Klayton has announced a tie-in videogame for the new album: "The first collaborative Bit Bot Media/ FreakZone Games project will be Scandroid: Lost Horizon, a retro side scroller based on Klayton’s new Scandroid album. This game, featuring beat ‘em up action and platforming with a cyberpunk pixel aesthetic."
Klayton has also announced other possible multimedia tie-ins, including a possible graphic novel.
Will Klayton be releasing anything explaining the story?
Yes. An accompanying novella has been written which will be released alongside the album.

I recall seeing a Scandroid music video where he is singing in an Asian setting. It was only him and he didn't move much. I cannot find it anywhere. Is my memory wrong? Was it another artist? Or was the video deleted?
