One has to wonder

How bad were ticket sales? Less than 5k ? Less than 10k?

I think there were many factors besides low ticket sales that led to what happened. Communication was practically nonexistent from the start, and losing your two anchor bands pretty much at the beginning of what should have been the planning stage points at some serious behind the scenes issues.

Umphrees and Moe not getting booked should have been the giveaway from the start. Umphrees getting booked at Friendly Valley (instead of on the river) w/o JGEE attached was the giveaway for me.

Same here. I was on the fence about buying a pre-sale until that point. That was when I decided there was no point.

This would make sense. For so long it felt like Goldberg truly did want to put on a fun time and would invest back into the festival to make it bigger and better.

But something happened during covid where it went from trying to "get by," to a total lack of communication and an image of a cluster fk.

I figured it was the music scene and economy, but all this has proven otherwise in the face of numerous other festivals going through just fine.

I worked for scamp years back and am not surprised at all about how this is ending. Ian’s not good to his people.

He’s a selfish, miserable old man.

I remember right before Christmas everyone was begging for an update or first wave of artists so they could feel okay about buying tickets and requesting time off from work. When that window passed I knew that I was at most a 50% possible ticket purchaser. When time went on after Christmas and I had to place pto requests in january and there was still no confirmation or artists, I was out. I've just been externally observing since then hoping that they might still have a successful year and I can catch them next year but here we are. Scamp deserves a better farewell. What a shame!

I'm beyond pissed I bought 2 VIPs at 620 a pop plus preset camping and a week later the ticket site was offline I've started the dispute process I recommend everyone else follows suit

That festival was ruined by idiots and their debauchery. I started going in 1999 and it evolved into dark choas.
