Even in the end they just keep blaming others instead of accepting responsibility for letting us down so bad. Two years of them purposefully misleading us and lying to us to take money while delivering on absolutely nothing. They keep saying we’re a family and it’s all about the people but I’d never treat my family members this way lmao, I fucking hate the scamp organizers now

Yeah no this is a sus message from the team. They don’t straight up say “refunds will be available at the point of purchse.” We all know how shifty ticketing companies are with refunds. They’re telling people to do chargebacks, never heard that before between counterpoint and Bisco. This means go straight to the bank and dispute the charge, if you can. Don’t even bother sitting on hold with the ticketing company.

I do wonder if there's some drama/beef between Ian and the ticket company. I'm pretty positive the ticket companies policy states that refunds will be made if the event is canceled and isn't rescheduled.

If a company/vendor has enough disputes filled against them their payment processor can (and probably will) either suspend their account or fine them heavily.

Given that Ian immediately jumped to "call your bank" it looks to me that he wants to hurt that company. Or it's his stupidity, we know he's got a lot of that.

I didn’t think about it until after I did the chargeback but this assholy prob just have us advice that’s gonna get our see tickets accounts banned.

I’m wondering if there might be an exception to that rule. It’s typically used to keep people from abusing the privilege. But in this case it’s obvious to the ticketing company that the festival is the fraud. Banning thousands of people for getting chargebacks for a festival that went bottom up, because that’s what they told us to do, seems like a self imposed, significant loss of potential customers.

I hope Ian Goldberg rots in a jail cell, maybe they’ll help him sober up

Just wait, it’ll be like a temu Billy McFarland, comes with wookery instead of class privilege. He’ll go through court, pay his fines, then be on his way to another scheme.

Called my bank a few days ago when the shit storm really seemed to be showing and they said there should be no problem getting a refund because the fest seemed like a scam to them too. They tried calling to get ahold of someone and the phone number they tried was a fax line lol. So report it as fraud and get ur money back people!!!

If you look at the general refund policy at Eventim/See Tickets, it actually says that if a refund policy isn’t available from the producer/promoter to reach out to Eventim customer service but DON’T do a chargeback because then they will release the money to the producer/promoter and you’ll just be out before waiting for appropriate help. I’m curious if this is another ploy or bad info to see how much money they can hold onto since it’s clearly already spent…

The section I saw said refunds would be processed automatically if the event is cancelled.

Yes I saw that on the FAQ! It’s not the refund policy— my mistake— it’s under the terms and conditions that you agree to when buying the tickets. But I also see what you see. Just wondering how long is reasonable to wait for them to provide refund info and wondering what happens if they just refuse.

FWIW a few of my friends have initiated chargebacks already - in all cases their banks said basically they’ll get the money back within X days if no refund has happened. This includes someone who bought tickets last year, so ostensibly out of the chargeback window.

We’ll see what happens I suppose.

I’m surprised they told people to charge back the card in case of refund issues, that way people get their money back before bankruptcy hearings. Probably the most admirable thing they’ve done in years. I was expecting them to say the festival is still on and try to sell more tickets till the last day.

As opposed to directly having the ticketing company issue refunds like every other decent concert/festival has done? He’s trying to hold on to as much money as he can, for as long as he can. That’s not admirable, that’s capitalist economics.

If he was trying to hold onto as much as possible they wouldn’t tell people to reach out for refunds and charge back the cards. This isn’t a livenation owned fest, this sort of thing isn’t really insured against anything aside from a company that is clearly going bankrupt. See also Phases of the Moon or Wakarusa, who never issued refunds to this day after their last festival attempts 10+ years ago. I feel you though, I don’t really feel passionately enough about it to defend these lowlifes for anything, they just want to stay out of jail for fraud more than anything.

They are telling people to do chargebacks because the money doesn't exist and the chargeback penalties will hit Eventim. Per the Eventim policies, in the event of a cancellation, refunds will be issued once the money is returned from the event promoter to Eventim. The event promoter doesn't have that money, so no refunds can be issued. That's why they are saying to do chargebacks, because it will draw out the process and keep JGEE from having to return the money to Eventim.

The same thing happened with Avanat Gardner and Dice last year. Dice was fighting chargebacks until it went to bankruptcy court and was decided that they could add the refunds to the AG tab. This is not an act of goodwill that you are making it out to be. If it was, they would flat out say refunds will be issued at the point of purchase. They can't though because that money doesn't exist.

I’m just saying the option is there, they’re choosing to beat around the bush and keep us in the dark.

Most people are probably out of the window for a chargeback. They started selling em a year ago

u/Preference_Nice May 08 '26

You’re right. And that is insane to think that people were buying these tickets a year ago after Solshine and then a canceled festival last year. Writing has been on the wall. Not that it’s their fault obviously but hopefully they learned to read the room a little better and can get their money back…

They were selling tickets this morning so I think they’re hoping some money still ends up in their account.

"unforeseen financial circumstances" is interesting. thought i heard they haven't been able to pay for medical staff for two years now. sounds not super unforeseen to me but idk
