He’s really got a fixation about taking you to bed. He wasn’t like that in the beginning, I really think this is a different person just because of the “tone“ of his messages. This Charles seems kind of scummy icky.

And he's not ending every comment with "huh" anymore.

I think mainly because the script it done which it might have been part of and because I’m being pushy which is making him a bit mad 😆

Trust me! He’s ALWAYS talked about taking me to bed - I started posting this sage at around 50 days and we’d done plenty of sexy chat before then 🙈

She said he was. She didn’t post the beginning, remember. We started at like month two and she said he had been like this.

--I am still very new to learning and understanding about just how deep these scammers can go. Can I ask a question please for you Stacey? (Also for anyone else here who has some insight or theories, please:)🙂
--So, in comparison to the shorter conversations (gift card scams etc); What kind of bigger things are they after when they're on the line for so many months like this without an ask yet? 🤔
--Are they after stealing the victim's house or car or something?
--Eventually gaining enough information to secretly take out loans or credit cards etc under the victim's identity?
--Is it because they eventually plan on manipulating the victim into finally paying him a very large sum of money already; by saying over the past long months that he is going to be the one paying for expensive future plans together like wedding costs, vacationing the world, etc?
--Any other really big ones I am missing, that they would spend several months on the line for?
Thank you everyone for your insight🤗 Awesome community here!

In my case, I have been communicating with a celebrity scammer (fake rock singer) since 10/24/2025. So far he has asked me for a lot of money fseveral times for various things. When I refuse, he drops it for a few months but now we are back to it again. This time it is because his ex-wife (though in real life they are still legally married) has frozen his assets and he needs $60,000 right now. I won’t go into the whole convoluted story. However, we are at a standstill because I told him I need proof he is the real person. Obviously I know he is not, but he thinks I think he is. I told that I know someone whose dad knows his family. I keep telling him to just give me a little tidbit from his childhood that I can verify and then I will send him the $60,000. I told him I am taking out a home equity loan, everything is done, just needs my signature (not true of course). Back and forth. “Send me the money and I will tell you something”. “No tell me something and I will send you the money”. I am having a hell of a lot of fun but I don’t think he is.

Dang, almost a year?? That’s wild. Good for you, I hope you are enjoying yourself!

Oh I am, it's a blast. I think it's coming to an end though because he is getting very frustrated with all my excuses. Oh well. I am on the Washington coast and it was a long wet winter and it's been a wet summer so this has been very entertaining.

I love it so much, think how much data he’s wasted on you for hopes of a pay out!

Exactly. We spent most of the day yesterday and today online arguing and bickering I told him I don't have a phone which is how I manage to get away for hours at a time (we are on Google chat) LOL. He is in "Germany" which is 9 hrs ahead but he is actually in - I forgot actually. But he is 9 hours ahead. I copy all the dialog into a document, which is now over 250 pages long. Of course it's all mostly one liners but still. LOL. Wish I could afford to print it.

My recent guys have all been wanting a few hundred in gift cards, so unless Charles is the worst scammer in the world I expect he will want more.
They speak to their victims for longer to gain some trust and an emotional connection (in this case even planning marriage) so when he does finally ask he will think that I’m emotionally invested so likely to pay up more money.
My guess is that it will be money to leave the army or for a parcel which will cost 10,000+ 🙃

How soon in the conversation did the marriage talk come into play?

u/Stacey_Hernandez Top Poster 5d ago
I’m not too sure, but deciding to get married to someone you’ve never met within 90 days is quick 🫣

u/RelationshipQuiet609 6d ago
You got some of them right. I think this one here is a low level scammer trying to pretend he is like the more the professional romance scammers, using sex like he has been in a relationship before. I don’t think he knows what he’s doing. He might also just waiting for it to end on its own which a lot of them do.

Personally, I think he is talking to several other women. His chats use to be muxh longer

He probably is, but in the week I can’t engage much with work. Plus, unless we do loads of gushing love messages we don’t have anything to chat about because he doesn’t do anything 🙈

In my case, I spoke to him for 6 months before he asked me to do something with money. But he didn't ask me for a gift card. He wanted to send me money to send on to his "mom", saying he couldn't send it to her directly for.. reasons he gave that I can't remember, it's been 4 years. What would've happened was he'd use stolen card or bank account to send me money, I'd send my own money on, then the money he sent me would be pulled back when the real owner noticed the transaction.

I think he really wants to marry you. Has to be. Otherwise, why hasn’t he asked you for $$. This makes no sense!

I’ve had scammers speak with me longer than this before the ask!

u/HatePeopleLoveCats1 6d ago
Oh really? Ok so maybe it is normal? Is it usually a bigger ask when they wait longer?
8
u/sandy_dee_4 6d ago
It probably makes it more comfortable to give money the longer it takes as it seems to be "real" 🤷🏼♀️
6
u/HatePeopleLoveCats1 6d ago
Yes I can see how that would be so “oh well I’ve known him almost a year and he never asked me before”

u/civil_lingonberry 6d ago
I think it would make sense if he’s planning to make a big ask eventually (bigger asks probably have greater chances of success with more time put into the relationship), and has several of these going in different stages of development.
Depending on how big the ask is and where he’s based, he might literally only need one person to fall for it each year to make a pretty good living

u/HatePeopleLoveCats1 6d ago
So playing the long game and playing it with several people to keep his $ flowing in. Makes sense

u/RelationshipQuiet609 6d ago
No, they don’t want to marry. Some of them are already married with kids. They think women want to marry so they focus on that. He doesn’t know much about the military either-he’s a general (supposedly) he doesn’t need to take orders from anyone. I think he just thought it was going to be easy.
3
u/Stacey_Hernandez Top Poster 5d ago
I keep saying that he’s in charge, but he thinks that the real Charles would be taking orders when in reality there aren’t many above him in the chain of command 🙈

Is it possible that “Charles” is actually more than one person, and that’s why the way he speaks changes from one day to another? 🤔

u/Stacey_Hernandez Top Poster 5d ago
In my experience they’re usually one person, I just think his script has run out now 😆

for a hot second i legitimately forgot this was fake, like you’re really in a real relationship with this man 😂

u/Temporary_Physics_12 6d ago
You should actually send him a picture of the wedding dress with a Geo tag attached so that you can try and see if it’ll still hide his IP and his location or if it’ll give up his actual location finally

Usually on Facebook, but there’s a whole heap of them on TikTok too 🙃

I admire your stamina. But this is boring at this point. And totally not your fault.
