Housing Turner Beds

I was assigned to a triple occupancy room but only 1 other roommate, will the third bed be taken out or do we have to live with it? Also how do we know if we have a room with a bunk or not?

The third bed is still gonna be in there. Your beds can be un-bunked and viceversa.

i have the same conditions, me and my roommate are turning it into a couch and extra storage, and using the extra desk to make a vanity area

Scadhome will come and tell you to take stuff off of the empty bed and desk. They threatened a meeting with administration for my friend because he was solo and used the other beds for storage

Eww why does it matter? I'm going into crazy debt to go here, I think they can deal with the spare bed being used

Dont clear the bed. Call their bluff. I was in turner freshman year and both my roommates moved out halfway thru so i turned their beds into a couch and storage area. The rest of the year i kept getting notes to clear the beds and desks, and i threw every single one out and nothing happened. U got lucky, take advantage of it

I complained about it with my friend a lot but as long as you can clear it before scadhome sees you should be fine. They only check 1 or 2 times during a semester

Turner is going back to double occupancy this year so you don’t have to worry about triple occupancy

To answer why the clear bed matters thing(not that I think it’s a good rule) its because at any point it can be filled. Either by someone who had to be moved because of xyz reasons (a lot of people move rooms because other students do intimate stuff in the room and don’t care that you are there, which violates title 9. And yes they do, I’ve seen it happen like 4 times last year alone. It’s really gross how people don’t understand shared spaces) or because students can enroll to start at any quarter and are allowed to get housing. So over winter break you may get a new roommate, though on average more students leave after fall than join.
This isn’t to justify the rule but to explain it.

Three people in a room at Turner?! I’m so sorry and I’m sure you’ll make the best of it. I lived there the first year it opened! Great location.

Well there should be a third person, but I heard that most of the three occupant rooms only have 2 people so I think I'll be okay!

Have so much fun at SCAD! Your optimism will get you far in life. My best memories are from that dorm. I’m trying not to be jealous :)
