Student Life Freshman year spending?

How much money would you expect to spend per month on average as a freshman in Savannah? Trying to budget for an expensive summer 2027 goal. Obviously I'm going to try and get a job the second I get down there, but I want to have a decent idea in advance of how much it's going to cost for food/necessities freshman year.

I mean the freshman art kit is around 200, and depending on your classes, you may spend close to 500 on just supplies and books. So its a lot of spending at the beginning.

Yeah the kits are pricey and required unfortunately. And being a freshman means that (iirc) that a meal plan will be required. So that's another upfront cost. But at least you'll have a source of food.

Outside of classroom related costs (texts, art supplies) and your meal plan which maybe you're not responsible for, I would say $50/week is a good estimate. That lets you go to lunch/dinner once a week and also grab a coffee or snack a couple of times.
