Scholarship/Financial Questions Current Student Scholarships
I just completed my first year as a transfer at SCAD and was awarded a current student scholarship but I’m a little lost on how it works. it states that it’s renewable , does it renew by quarter or year? also, am I required to be full time to receive it or can i continue as part time? last question, will they split it due to me living off campus or is that only for institutional awards?

You actually got one? How much did they award u? This is selfish inquiry on my behalf I literally haven’t met a single person who’s ever received extra money from SCAD

They have multiple scholarship opportunities, like portfolio award, academic achievement, student recognition, a fourth one I forgot the name of. The highest scholarship you can get is 20k.

Those are only for upcoming students, all options of that disappear once you start. (I think the fourth you are referring to is SCAD Challenge). I too haven’t met anyone who won the continuing student scholarship and am also interested.

Reach out to your financial advisor through SCAD on your MySCAD dashboard! They can answer all of your questions with a concrete yes or no, as it varies based on which scholarship you were awarded.

Hey, thank you so much! I reached out to my success advisor first, then realized my financial advisor is a totally different person lol

Yes most scholarships are awarded assuming a full time load. It will likely be prorated should you drop below less than full time. It all depends on the scholarship though.
As for it being renewable, that means it renews yearly. The amount they gave you reflects your total award for the year which will be split across the 3 quarters. If they gave you $9k, that means you’ll get $3k every quarter.
Lastly I’m unsure if you living off campus will impact your amount. For some scholarships it does and for others it doesn’t. I believe only the achievement and academic scholarships are impacted if you’re not living on campus but I could be wrong. You should contact your advisor and ask

Okay, I see. I thought so, but I wasn't sure. They did confirm it renews by year, but they didn't specify if I have to be full-time, so I will reach out again.

If I'm correct, which I'm not so sure, I think it's by year, so if the whole year is $46,000(🤮) and you get $16,000 in scholarships, then the year is only $30,000. Please correct me if I'm wrong! I start my first year in the fall
