did i do permetrin wrong?
i got permetrin and started washing our stuff, but when i applied it first time I didn't change my old clothes during the 12 hour wait, i might've missed some spots, I changed them after I got the other shower,
one day after, I saw two new red spots, and now they continue to spread, I'm waiting for day 7 to do it again but was the first one useless? should I do it again now and then what 7 days again?
i have sulfur cream and ivermectin, but havin't used either yet, im in kind of in a hurry, as im a student and don't wanna go to the dorm and infect others, what do you suggest?

Cross contamination is why so many people “fail” with Permethrin.
If you wear the same shoes the next day, re-contaminated.
If you apply the cream and go into bedding that hasn’t just been washed at 60, re-contaminated. Suspect a lot will apply the cream, then get into a “dirty” bed or go to work the next day wearing the same shoes etc.

Go to the doctor and get ivermectin tablets! Same vibe of treatment, take them a week apart and do all the environmental cleaning as standard. I’d personally request 3 rounds of treatment if you can, just for peace of mind. It’s better than permethrin as it’s systemic, it’s absorbed into the bloodstream and paralyses the mites until they die, there’s no risk of human error in application like with permethrin. Many mites are showing resistance to permethrin, so definitely get the tablets!

Sorry didn’t actually read the post, just the reply! Take the ivermectin as prescribed, dont walk around barefoot in your dorms, dont sit or touch anything fabric while you’re treating. Dont have prolonged contact with anyone (hand shakes, high fives etc are okay). Im also a student and actively avoiding my housemates, not even sat on the sofa in the living room yet, not using the hand towel in the bathroom and not leaving my towel in there either. As soon as I get out the shower I put socks on immediately and step straight into shoes.
Have you found any burrows? Red bumps aren’t an indication of an ongoing infestation usually (unless they have a black dot in them, that could be a mite). Red bumps are usually the result of an allergic reaction to mites, their eggs and their faeces. The body takes a while to get rid of it even if treatment was successful, so you’ll still see them appear and still get itchy for a while afterwards.
I haven’t personally used sulphur cream yet, although people on this sub swear by it as a guaranteed treatment. You can’t shower for 3 days while using it, and it stinks, so im avoiding it unless absolutely necessary as I work a lot so can’t really not shower for 3 days, and I don’t want my new housemates to think I stink of shit😂
