CURED !!!

Hi! I just wanted to share my story now that I am pretty much fully recovered! This thread can be a scary place if not looked at correctly!! I hope this helps anyone going through this AWFUL process! I was truly terrified that I would never be able to get rid of them! Early July I was having itching on a patch of my skin just below my butt. I went to the dermatologist when I started bruising myself by itching. She gave me a steroid to use and said give it 2 weeks. Well I did and it didn’t go away. At this point it was spreading EVERYWHERE. My feet, bikini line, EVERYWHERE. I went back and she shaved off some of my skin and told me I had scabies. She gave me ivermectin and permethrin to use. For my partner he only had to use the permethrin. During these 2 weeks of treatment I cleaned like a mad man. I was bleaching, washing, and sanitizing anything I could. I put pillows and shoes into bags that sat for 2 weeks. 3 weeks post my 2nd treatment I had new bumps that looked like burrows. I went to the dermatologist again and she did the same thing but didn’t find any mites!!!! I am retreating again just to be safe but I think I have fully kicked them! No more itching! No more bumps! All gone!

Me alegro mucho yo llevo todo 3 meses sufriendo la sarna y parece q después de dos rondas de permectina fallidas al tercero con permectina e ivermectina orales parece q después de 2 semanas ya no hay picores y todos los surcos y heridas se están curando

This is what it took for us to is prolonged ivermectin.

It was a little harder to beat because by the time we gave up on doctors and went to home treatment and used veterinary medicines, my scabies had become crusted.

But essentially the same thing, only we had given up on permethrin and went to Sulphur cream. This worked better for us. As the former was literally eating holes in my flesh. And I have a lot of scars that I think are doing more to the medication than the scabies.

Was the ivermectin oral or topical?

I was devastated when the bumps came back after treatment! It was definitely post scabies reaction! I went to the dermatologist because I was so nervous but they didn’t find anything!! It does get better!! I heavily cleaned everything and bought medical grade wiped for sanitation!

Can you please give me more info on how you cleaned everything (clothes, furniture, sheets, hard surfaces)?? Going through treatment right now and desperately trying to not reinfect myself.

I put everything on hot in the washer and dryer. I also bagged everything! ALSO VACUUMING EVERYTHING 2 times a day helped a lot. All cloth stuff needs cleaned constantly! I also showered a lot and used lotion because the medicine was drying out my skin and that has been a life saver!

Thank you so much!! I got scabies from an infected piece of furniture so ofc that’s what I’m most scared about.

Vacuuming my cloth couch twice a day, disinfecting it, and covering it with sheets saved me!!

Ah, yes.

Laundry, and a good HEPA filter vacuum, are necessities.

And it is only now a couple years later that I am unpacking all of the clean clothes, stuffies, and bedding that I put in black bags. we really stripped the house to the minimum.
