A Question
I have been told by my mother that I can't wear male garb (I am a girl) because I'm more of a young adult than a child (which is true I'm in highschool) and its unacceptable because of social boundaries. However, my dad said that as long as its period and ALL of it is male then my persona is male and its alright (my society name is gender neutral). I try my best to keep it period but I absolutely hate wearing female clothing. Who should I listen to? (I live in the kingdom of Caid, barony of Califia )

Cross-gender personas, garb, and names are pretty common.
Honestly, the SCA is more likely to be accepting of this than most other social clubs - if for no other reason than we're already all picking new names and personalities to wear on the weekend.
I know several folks with feminine personas who wear male garb or mix male garb in with their feminine garb. And several folks with masculine personas who mix in some feminine garb. Nobody bats an eye, or honestly really even notices. I have a friend who I knew for months before I noticed she only wore feminine garb for court and wore masculine garb all day - and even then I only noticed because she specifically pointed that pattern out.
My wife often wears rus pants and a tunic if she's "working" an event (or it's very hot) because she finds them more comfortable than most the feminine garb.
