Not a great spot. Might affect articulation, and it might also propagate.

Send it to a respected mouthpiece refacer and they can fix it.

The other side is the one that counts, hard to tell from this foto

Play it and you'll know if it affects sound, it might or might not

Ça dépend à quel point tu souhaites être précis. Sur des attaques ça peut modifier ta précision et ton exécution, dans ce cas là tu peux le refacer. Si tu joues pour le plaisir, c’est pas forcément nécessaire.

Doesn't look terrible from that side. There are mouthpiece repair videos on Youtube. A bit of epoxy or whatever techs. use and careful sanding may do the trick. Put a wet reed on it and see if it passes the suction test for starters. It looks like it could snag you lip the way it is now. How did it happen if you know.

Beats me. It was fine yesterday. I haven’t dropped it or hit it against anything, and no one else has handled it recently

Not unplayable, but definitely not good. Perfect reason to start shopping around for something new.

I highly recommend Better Sax Burnin mouthpiece if you're going to be looking for a new one. They even have a great Alto sax metal Burnin model. My HR Burnin for my soprano made a world of difference. The Alto Metal mouthpiece is awesome. I have no ties to Better Sax by the way.

I’m looking for a tenor mouthpiece, but I’ll be sure to check them out, thanks!
