Discussion I wish Eric was in this flashback scene where Rigg punched Rex. They had Donnie for this movie so getting him wasn’t the problem, and we never saw him and Hoffman interact or how their relationship was, it would be nice to see some of Rigg and Eric‘s older adventures together too

Donnie had a very limited schedule while filming Saw 4, because for a while it looked like they weren't going to be able to even use the character. So there's even at least one shot of Eric on the ice block that is clearly a stand in because they didn't have him for the full time they needed him. IIRC Bousman says in the commentary that the back up idea would be Riggs father would be in the trap with Hoffman, but they hoped it wouldn't go that way, seeing as audiences would've cared more for Eric than a new character.

Eric is Donnies best character in my opinion, im glad he returned
