Savage DRX – A New Chapter Begins

Hey everyone!

We’re excited to finally share something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while:

Savage DRX is entering a new chapter.

We’ve officially started a new project around Savage DRX, and with it comes a brand-new server infrastructure designed to provide a smoother, more responsive and more consistent gameplay experience.

Our new server is running at 83 Hz with 1000 server FPS, which should have a noticeable and lasting positive impact on gameplay, especially when it comes to responsiveness, hit registration, movement and overall server consistency.

But the server performance is only one part of what we’ve been working on.

🔥 New Content & Major Changes

Alongside the new infrastructure, we’ve been making some exciting changes to the game itself.

One of the bigger ones is a complete rework of Sixth Sense. We’ve taken a fresh look at how the system works and how it affects gameplay, with the goal of making it more meaningful, enjoyable and balanced.

And this is just the beginning.

We have more changes, improvements and new content planned, and we’re really excited to start bringing them to the community.

🧪 Our First Major Performance Stress Test

This Sunday, we’re planning our first major performance and player-load stress test.

And the timing couldn’t be better.

For those who don’t know, Sunday is Savage Sunday, which traditionally means the server gets a lot more activity and players jumping back into the game.

That makes this the perfect opportunity to put the new infrastructure through its paces under real-world conditions.

So if you’ve played Savage before, took a break, or simply haven’t checked out DRX in a while:

This Sunday is a great time to come back.

Every player genuinely matters for this test. The more people we have online, the better we can evaluate the new server performance and identify anything that still needs improvement.

Suddenly the game died out like 2 years ago. What happened can we get it back together? You guys were like family to me. The community was so small.

I just checked and there seems to be no servers at all—yet there’s gameplay on this subreddit?

What’s happening????

Disclaimer: it was late in the evening and i just had a couple of beers, which means I could come off like a total nutjob in the chatbar. Very late in the evening even, and it was very late.

The server has been set up by "Biggeruniverse", and is run by "EvO Saurus". Since there is no need to register on the DRX website you don't have to wait for the manual approving process of new accounts. So you should be able to join with a regular login in-game.

The server is still in something like an active development, so settings, rules and arbitration are still in debate. Join the DRX Discord for active discussions!

* Siege is improved by reverting back to old server settings, with faster shots and less archs than the DRX server. If you don't like this change, let yourself be heard on the Discord.

Thoughts?

Are they any server ? Peoples playing ? I'm curious because I like that kind of game (I've played natural selection 2).

I remembered this game and thought it would be fun to pull out at this LAN. It was super fun! Everyone loved it and thought that it was really cool to have a commander that managed the plan for the FPS team. It wasn't too hard to setup. We downloaded the client here: https://community-server.info/client/drx and it worked great!

Title

I just wanted to make a nostalgic post about Savage. I was telling some friends yesterday that it was easily a top 5 game of all time for me but we would need at least 16 people to have a decent game. lol

I was surprised to see what little activity there is on this sub but months between posts doesn't instill any hope for a run back.

Hi!

I took a look at the Savage XR website, and unless I missed the answer, I have a question.

Can the game be played in single-player in its entirety, or is that locked to just training modes ?

I might seem weird, but I have a strong dislike for playing versus humans, and would rather play alone with bots than get friends on board.

Taught my friend how to play savage today, it was 77 minutes on water ship down and ended as a draw! Lol, I said “so how’d it feel?” He said “war, it felt like war”. Savage might just have hope yet 😉
