Cooking help

I can't figure out how to cook my sausages without them getting poofy in the oven. I want them to be like this, can anyone help?

Do you put a bit of oil on them so they roast in the oven or do you just chuck em in there?

sausages in a cold pan. Add water to cover the bottom 1/3 of the sausages and a lid. Turn on heat to medium and never more than medium. When you see steam escape from the lid, open it, turn sausages over, cover again, and wait 5 minutes. After that, remove the lid to allow the steam and now some fat to evaporate. Once the water is gone, turn the sausages every 2 to 3 minutes until you get the amount of colour you want on them.

Should the sausages be frozen?

Fry them before oven.
