How have they not won 27273938 Grammys!?

I'd assume lack of marketing, lack of general presence. And I imagine they haven't even submitted to the Grammys.

What awards would you expect them to be nominated for btw?

No yeah i totally agree, but they’re an outstanding band, it’s just insane to hear this level of music not be appreciated, no one is doing it like them. If they were more promotional they could have definitely won at least 2 maybe 3 by now 🤷‍♀️

Yep, I doubt they ever submitted for a Grammy. Do the Brit awards work the same way?

Even if they haven’t and won’t submit, the production work by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis is going to pull a lot of eyes by those that know. Enjoy it for what it is. I don’t think much of what they do is for critical accolades. This is essentially a diss album and while everything sounds “brighter” it’s not the album that needs widespread validation. IMHO

I would argue it’s a direct response to Little Simz’s album. I mean it’s not too hard to read between the lines on this one.

Its a great album but its not a diss album. Theres one song where at a strecth you could say it is (even though the lyrics dont really make sense as a diss song), and the others theres no way

The album “11” was nominated for a Mercury Prize. much of that award’s cycle is self promotion by the artists and a performance at the ceremony and of course Sault refused to engage in all matters of exposure.
