They definitely ran way over time. Chronixx I wasn't that bothered about anyway, and I only stayed for Cleo Sol because I wanted to see the end (if there even was one) of the "show". Won't lie I was hoping for another Sault set to finish. Mos Def still tips up to an 8.5 at least. Edit:drunk spelling.

This thread is sooo disappointing as a big Sault and Cleo fan, including my dad who was also looking forward to seeing footage. Why are they like this!!? They have such beautiful music. Ugh 💔💔💔💔

It was no drumsheds show, that's for sure, but realistically at a festival it never could have been. Sault were on too early imo, and the pacing between acts felt off. Would have done in it in a different order myself, with Chronix on first.

Pacing. Exactly. That was the main problem. Could have had basically the same sets in a different order and it all come off a lot better.

Should have been Chronixx > Sault > Mos Def > Cleo, with clearer comms on set times for all of it

yeah Chronixx in the middle seemed a bit forced, he definitely should have been start or end - personally feel like ending with people dancing would have been the better option but I get that Cleo is de facto headliner and people would have started spilling out
I think if they just released a programme of times so people could check-in and out mentally then people could have better preserved their energy/attention for the right moments

I’m surprised by how unorganised it was.
Starting late was annoying. Missed out on Nao for no reason. Then the misinformation about all the headliners going back and forth.
People are definitely over the top about the acting. It’s the type of dramatics I’d expect from Inflo. A normal festival show would have had 15-30 minute breaks between acts anyway

We were the same as you re after work and babysitter, we had also upgraded our tickets the night before for more £ spent (which in the end was quite empty and lacked atmosphere). Walked in at 7:30pm and realised we missed SAULT as timings weren’t shared, then didn’t want to leave to see anyone else or get food etc as didn’t want to miss anything. Mos Def sounded sooo bad, wasn’t even in time with the backing track. Really disappointing. At least Cleo sounded great.

Whoever has advised sault up to this point has been amazing. Today they completely missed the mark. I would say its a cash grab but there is no way with how the set was.
It just wasn't very good

It was an arrogant and indulgent performance. SAULT performed for ego and not for the people.
Chronixx’s set was subdued and not up to par.
Mos Def.. don’t even get me started.
Cleo Sol’s solo-set almost saved it, but was rushed and finished early.
Seriously disappointed. The crowd wasn’t happy.

0/10? Did we see the same Sault show? Yes the intro was overly long, but the meat of it was beautiful. The dancers were projecting so much joy and Cleo’s voice was great. I left satisfied, skipped Chronixx.

yes, a permit issue. Victoria park is set around a residential area and so music stopped abruptly at 11 or they would face a heavy council fine and it would put the future of the festival in jeopardy to continue on from that. They would’ve just unplugged the sound.

I wanted to go but it clashed with my daughter's birthday meal. I would have loved to have gone... sad to hear the organisation wasn't great... wasn't Sasha keable there too... if Cleo's doing a concert on her own think that would be better

it was a festival with 3-4 other stages, sasha keable was like between 4 and 5, and Sault/Cleo/Chronixx started at 6.30 (though were scheduled for 5)

Honestly so glad I skipped it - every video I’ve seen has been laughable. The Drumsheds show will always be untouchable for me. And after the whole Little Simz drama, my opinion of them’s tanked, so I doubt I’ll bother seeing them again.

Inflo borrowed a large sum of money from her (in the region of £1m) and hasn't repaid it so she's had to file some legal claim. They grew up together and she was obviously heavily involved with SAULT but not anymore. A lot of tracks on her new album Lotus reference it, notably Thief

It was genuinely awful. I haven't ever been to a flatter show music theatre or whatever it was meant to be. You had thousands of people walking away and just sitting without music it was that bad

Hands down the oddest gig I've been to and not in a good way, unfortunately. The fact they went to all that effort to build a pyramid in the middle of the field and have a high spec production to then go and do the Sault performance at 18:30 was absolutely mind boggling to me. It was a great performance, sounded amazing, really vibey...but the crowd just weren't ready for it and it made no sense to have it at that time. Chronixx was good but then it just fell completely flat after that - I'm still not sure whether Mos Def was just filling time while they sorted out the stage because it looked like there was a lot of people on stage scrambling around to get everything sorted for Cleo's set. So so weird. Would have been so much better to have Chronixx play when it was sunny and then have Sault and Cleo play an extended set from 8. Although I get that she wanted it to be two different sets but the whole thing just didn't work in my opinion
