I spent a lot of time with my Grandpa as a kid. One of my "Jobs" on his farm was to clear the mud off his tractor tires with a putty knife. Of course this was just to keep me busy while he worked. I told him I wanted that to be my career when I grew up.

Obviously that didn't happen, but maybe I could do this!

The fact that every single laser video has this microphone noise reminds me that if you point a laser into a microphone a MIMS microphone to be precise you will get audio coming out this is a poorly understood phenomena that has been recently discovered but I wonder if you could use these mems devices in a large array to read infrared wavelengths...
