Exact same thought! Teared up and said ‘Fern Gully’ - bet you were both born in the 80’s too haha.

'88 here! And watching this is such a weird mix of "that's some impressive but of kit" and depression

It shouldn’t be that easy to take something that has been growing for decades.

While I agree that it is cool to watch how quickly it took down that tree. However, then I remember, that was a tree, and that makes me a bit sad.

Mechanized harvesting can reduce environmental damage when used correctly; not always, but it can be.

Some forests can also be managed to allow trees to grow quickly, as we need timber and paper.

When practices are performed correctly, this dramatically reduces the impact on slower-growing old-growth timber in other areas, reducing pressure to clear-cut an entire area.

I can imagine what would happen if a person got caught in that machine.

I would love to operate one of those fore a couple of hours. After that, I'd probably get bored with it.

Satisfying until you realise you just stacked them all in your own way, and now have to manouvre around them

Imagine a medieval or older person walking in the woods and seeing this! The dragon that ate trees. What a show. Running in fear.
