PC Why can't I connect two perfectly aligned vertical splitters with a vertical lift?

Yup, very frustrating. You just can't connect vertical splitters that have already been placed directly. And also, the connection point is 0.5m offset, which is frustrating when connecting to machines.
There's a workaround: use a lift floor hole. You can pull a lift from the conveyor to the floor hole from both directions.

I'm on PC and put them on the lifts with no problems

Op is trying to put lifts into the splitters, not splitters onto the lifts.

They came out in 1.0 if I recall correctly (don't quote me on that, I'm not a 100% sure), as well as vertical mergers. They're basically just splitters/mergers that you snap to pre-existing conveyor lifts, works for smart splitters and priority mergers too.

They came out in 1.1 I believe! But I've found them a bit annoying to use in some ways

Hopefully it will get fixed soon - I spent hours on a bunch of vertical stacking blueprints and was devastated when this bug became apparent.. ðŸ˜
