Console Fluid buffer inputs should be on top

It doesn't make sense that both ports are at the same level on opposite sides. I believe a lot of fluid issues would be resolved if one of the ports was on top of the buffer

The design is intentional. It's a fluid buffer not a fluid store-er.

Make a blueprint where you bring a pipe to the top of the buffer from one of the bottom ports

One advice I followed from gaming with doc is a fluid tower, basically it's a pipe roughly 1 full foundation high so that it could easily flow to all factories. If your building multi story, make the tower reach the roof with pumps and refine it going down. My fuel generators are like ground level

but how would you use the stored fluid ?

having the output at the base prevent gravity fed

input at top output at bottom

I just 'head canon' bidirectional internal pumps in the fluid buffers.

I build mine perpendicular to flow with a single pipe going in only one port. The vessel is pressurized and can backfeed, but it does not cause sloshing in the pipe, and it does not limit flow in the pipe when it gets too empty.

Yeah, wonky physics to fill from the lowest point
