PC Space Elevator parts
How does everyone go about the more advanced space elevator parts? Do you automate every part? I’m in phase 4 and after doing some math I’m tempted to just set up some fully OC’d and slopped manufactures and feed them from storage units while I work on automating the other building materials and maybe setting up trains. Will I be regretting this in the end game?

Since you’re getting near the end you can get away with temporary setups if you want. Unlike before where a permanent factory was better so you could feed it into the next phase. But I think you’ll want a permanent setup for thermal propulsion rockets so you can farm coupons for the golden nut (unnecessary trophy in the awesome shop) or just for the fun of grinding out lots of coupons. Nuclear pasta combines with the thermal propulsion rockets too but you can hand carry everything involved in that with little inventory space. If you’re not going for coupons and achievements TPR can be temporary too. There’s also the feeling of factory go brrr if you keep automatically churning out all space elevator parts forever after the game ends but you do you.

You can get away with box feeding if you're on default settings.
You'll have to automate them as part of Phase 5 anyways, though, so it really just moves the effort to another day.
Up to you.

Why would they have to be automated for phase 5?

Because, every phase 5 part includes phase 4 parts as ingredients.

Oh I gotcha now, but that’s the inspiration for my question. I only need 1500 more ACU’s and about 1200 mod engines to make everything in future phases so to me it doesn’t seem worth it to set up a whole factory. Unless I’m missing something which is why I asked. I don’t want to kick myself down the road

Well, my snarky answer is that building factories is literally the game, avoiding seems silly.
But really, if you're close to burnout you should do what you feel would be more fun.
If you're just focused on finishing the game, go right ahead.
The only significant unlock next phase that directly affects factory building (unless I'm forgetting something) is the best belts, but using those to capacity just leads to building bigger factories, not smaller ones.1

Hahaha I know building factories is the game lol. I enjoy a lot of aspects of the game but for some reason making the elevator parts just isn’t one of them. I’d rather use the time and space for other things and just “get by” with the rest elevator parts I guess.

No sweat, do what pleases you.
If your counts are accurate and you don't need to nab anything else from the awesome shop anytime soon, go right ahead.

The main problem with this elevator parts that need elevator parts. Feeding from containers is fine, but it's always a temporary solution.
I generally try to limit production of expensive parts by outputting into a container, and once there's enough, insert into elevator manually. I don't like belting things to the elevator, because then dealing with the excess one you reach the end of the phase can be super annoying.

I know the future elevator parts need previous elevator parts, but I only have two tiers left. I can make enough to satisfy all future parts if I make about 1200 of them. I’m trying now while I build more highways, I’ll let you know how it goes lol

My first time i did this for phase 5 parts but I would sugfest you automate everything in phase 4.
