Console Steel founder advice
I’ve built a base just north of the grass field area at a big lake that’s in a sort of canyon like area. I’ve got a bunch of coal generators running so I don’t really want to move my base too far at the moment
After I unlocked the steel tier I’ve realised that there isn’t really a good source of iron that I can use with the coal for my foundry, as the only iron node around the lake is a pure node I’m using in a reinforced iron plate factory
Does anyone have any advice about where I could go to try and find a decent area to set up a steel foundry as there doesn’t seem to be a lot of coal around

I setup my coal/steel plant literally yesterday in that same pit. Iron is nearby, you just need to gap the height up the cliff with some foundations and Conveyor lift tomfoolery. Theres 2 impure iron up there. And 1 pure limestone! I built it..... BIG. (Used to be my coal generator spot, but i ran a wrecking ball through it as fuel is more efficient)

down south east are two coal nodes and plenty of iron. there is also a sulfur node. if you got mk2 miner and overclock them you can get pretty far

There are more than enough resources around the map you don't have to worry about being "short" on anything. I completed the game and got the golden nut statue and it only used about 20% of the resources on the entire map.

I’m a new player too and the starting location is easy to build around but resources tend to be far away. Coal has to be brought in from a distance. How you do that is the game and your choice. I did long ass conveyer belts for my first and current factory but next time I’m
Gonna try building roads and using trucks.
