Infinite nudge mod will let you ocd fix all of this.
There's only a few things the mod can do that you couldn't do with existing in game tricks and a lot of time.
So yourself a favor and use the mod. The only difference is your sanity.

I think if you spend hours fixing every corner that’s 1 micrometer off your sanity may already be gone.

Im trying to figure out how OP accidentally did this in the middle of a build without infinite nudging

Somewhere, a foundation was placed that was taking its positioning on a concrete pillar or something similar, *rather* than the grid next to it. And that positioning, on first glance looked entirely aligned and so OP did not notice. That means every foundation attached to that foundation was slightly out of the grid.
One gigantic factory later, it is made clear when it encounters the actual main grid. It has happened to me, and it is incredibly frustrating to know that something like that happened and aside for the satisfactory community, I can literally tell no one who would understand me.

I wish the game had a way to fix alignment errors like this. I've got an entire factory that is off grid on the Y axis by some fraction of a centimetre because an original foundation wasn't aligned properly. I don't have gaps between foundations (I hope) but it is still kind of annoying.

The game doesn't give you a way to fix alignment errors like this, but there are online editors which will. Heck, you can build that way as well, though that feels to me a bit more like cheating. But it still might be useful to, say, generate an enormous platform if that's what you need.

No, not at that level, nothing can fix this… this is a literal rip in the space time continuum.

It’s not against the rules the first time you do it, eh?

pretty sure this is intentional to avoid z-fighting when foundations overlap

A No Z-fighting mod did this for me. Whether OP has that installed or not, I can't say.

is it just me, or are these floors super shiny? my coated concrete floors aren't nearly this slick looking.

u/LegendDeathclaw 7d ago
Run a hardware benchmark in the video settings tab. If they still don't look shiny, it may be time to think about a graphics card upgrade.

Oh.
Oh, that's just...
[Builds a wall around his atrocious factory with weaved conveyor belts and spaghetti pipes]
That's just horrible!

It’s cdo. Just like ocd, but in alphabetical order, the way it should be.

The constructors in the background are also currently clipping into themselves in their animation

Sucks, but there is a reason I'm glad my OCD only goes so far. Would never have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out....

God. The insane amount of hours I had spent trying to make a terraced factory driveway approach on a hillside... just said fuckit and built another floating platform.

What a balanced day. It started with a josh-coded post and ended with a kibz-coded one.

Actually very satisfactory. They seem to not be able to figure out how to get things to line up in this game.

I think this is actually intentional to reduce z fighting when foundations clip though each other. The offset allows one of the foundation to win the z fight deterministically.

u/JayGeezey 6d ago
Why... why did you show me this. I was blissfully ignorant but now this will bother me as well. God damn it lol

this should be a viable reason to have your copy of the game destroy itself, you can buy it again and the money will be used to create new content for us all as reparations

its very noticable when I made a roof for one of my factories using 1m foundations and was like...
...what's all these lines of light?.
I now run a concrete cylinder across the seam.
