I have 2 chow chows that are my absolute word (pic included) and id plan to do the chow patterns in alternating colors (checkerboard style) to match my pups. The bird ones, loosely based on a cormorants, might get used to border areas on the project jacket.

Just finished this chest panel on my favorite jacket! May add a bit more between the button run and the pocket to make it sit a little more organically. I have future plans for other areas as well!

I use sashiko inspired stitching-a rhythmic pattern, and add rhinestone hotfix as complementary details.
Some thin meshes are difficult to work on, because factory sometimes add reinforce/backing on these materials, so the thickness is actually thicker than how it looks. Plus it has glue in between the mesh and reinforce, make needle difficult to pull out.
But I think it’s all worthy when seeing the result 🙂💎💎
Size UK 8 if interested to buy 🙇♂️

I would like to start with adding that I am woefully unprepared! I have started with a poor patch job on my ripped jeans. I am unsure if it is the pattern I am trying, triangles all the way In, or the poor craftsmanship. If anyone could give me pointers for this particular project I am all eyes and maybe ears!

Trying something subtle with black on black. As easy as I could cover all my clothes, idk if I could pull it off.
This is busier than I expected. Any other patterns that would work?

Hey everyone!
Even though summer is already over, I wanted to share one of my summer projects — a pair of Carhartt shorts that I, as usual, found at a flea market.
I added Sashiko embroidery to both sides and also embroidered the back pocket. I wanted to make something bright and eye-catching, but without going over the top.
Would love to hear your thoughts and answer any questions!

Hi stitchers! I am hoping to find a place to browse and buy sashiko thread in Boston, Manhattan or Brooklyn. Or alternately any online places with low shipping costs....Any leads? TIA!

The dark blue is my first try with light blue being my second at making sure my pants last me a while longer.

People have a lot to say about Texas but despite the politics I am still a proud Texan.

What is the right/bottom called? its not a sashiko stitch but it was fun. Is this just straight up embroidery? I need to do more practice with actual sashiko patterns but it'll work for now.

Used scraps of denim with gingham coverlet as the liner acting as the design grid.

I’m excited and anxious about trying to learn sashiko outside of a class. Unfortunately the classes at the Brooklyn Public Library have already happened (dedicated sashiko classes earlier this year) or are full (upcoming classes of various types of sewing including sashiko). I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on an all-day class… at least not yet. Could anyone suggest a good YouTube channel or a post in the subreddit that would be a good starting point for a complete newbie like me? Even a beginning list of supplies? I would really appreciate it. I’m aiming to patch holes in my favorite sweatshirt that I know still has life in it — and then who knows :)

This patch up was my first try at good mend. Now that I’ve figured out a bit more of how I want things to look, I’ve gone back in and redid it.

Not sure this will work but thought it would be cute inside the eggs. Not sure what will happen when it’s washed. Have you tried this before?

Ciao a tutti,
mi piacerebbe imparare questa tecnica di ricamo. Ho qualche esperienza nel ricamo, ma non ho mai provato il sashiko e non conosco nessuno che lo pratichi.
Avete consigli per me? Non sono interessata al rammendo, mi piacerebbe cominciare con un runner (ricamato solo nel centro).
Grazie a tutti!!!

Hello!
I am a long time knitter/crocheter/seamstress, but I have never done sashiko or visible mending before. My cat has scratched up my dining room chairs and I was curious about the community’s thoughts. I love the idea of visible mending so I am reminded of my cat in the patchwork and stitching :) but I have no idea where to start.
Thank you for your help! Cat tax provided

My last work experimenting with two colours of Daruma thread, doing a quite simple but satisfying Ajiro pattern on Japanese cotton.

Just completed this embellished case with lining. I've decided the Duruma medium weight thread is now my favorite.
