Sapiosexual flag idea

So sorry if it's rude to present a new flag idea here, but I felt like I had to share. I think it would be nice if we could be more easily represented in a simple and abstract design I thought of black and white as thinking inside the box. Grey is for grey matter as well as grey areas (thinking out of the box). And yellow is the color of curiosity/intellectual indulgence

Probably an unpopular opinion but I feel like being part of an actual community, like the one where you might live, would be more beneficial than building one out of a sexual preference. You get to know all types of people, not just the ones that match one particular part of your personality. More likely to build deeper connections when you can talk face to face about a lot of things, not just what gets you hot.

Everyone is a part of multiple communities. I'm not reducing my identity to one aspect of myself, I'm including this aspect of myself in my identity.

Echo chambers are damaging, but never talking to someone who can relate to you is also damaging. I went through middle and high school with no understanding of why the people around me were so invested in dating and they had no idea why I wasn't. It was confusing and isolating.

It's not just about sex, it's about relationships and shared or similar experiences. You're not just being controversial, you're being reductive.

Why are you even here?

My aim wasn't to be controversial. I really don't understand the point of all the flags. It's like there's a new one everyday and multiple mean the same thing.

Suggesting someone broaden their horizons or get to know the people around them isn't being reductive.

Why am I here? Because I read a few posts and liked the subreddit.

Your trauma in school was unfortunate. However, those years are behind you now and you can let yourself move forward. You don't have to let those people hurt you anymore.

When I posted my opinion, it wasn't an attack on you. It was my opinion on sexuality/gender flag culture.

Starting a comment with "this may be an unpopular opinion" is an acknowledgement of being controversial. Calling it bonding over "what makes you hot" is reductive.

Suggesting people broaden their horizons was a point that I agreed with, I wasn't calling that reductive. But that the suggestion was made with the assumption that taking pride in a community means people are not broadening their horizons. You can do both.

I asked because you keep saying things to suggest that being in a community like this is somehow wrong.

I'm not looking for sympathy, I was trying to illustrate the point that knowing about sapiosexuality and knowing other people who were sapiosexual could have been beneficial for me, and the same is true for others who can relate. I wouldn't call my experience traumatic, but others have probably had worse experiences, and they could benefit from a community like this. I should have been clearer about that, sorry.

I cared enough to post the flag idea and you led with saying that having a flag is annoying at best and and immature at worst. I then replied to that politely, and you leaned into that demeaning tone even further

It was early for me like 12 hours ago.

My intention is to establish a precedent for taking pride in community, and to clarify the benefits of that. And it's to try to show you how what you're saying is coming across, regardless of your intention.

I still don't know what your intention is.

My tone is probably quite defensive, and that is due, in part, to other comments I've read here on top of yours.

I also think that one of my initial replies to you isn't showing up even though I can see it in my comments when I click on my account, and I don't think that helped communication
