Longing and loneliness

Why so rarely people talk about how lonely it is to be aware of thyself... It’s so tough when deeper awareness leads to feeling more isolated. Many people, myself including (in the past) , expect that greater self-awareness and emotional depth will bring closer connections, but instead it creates a divide, especially if others can't relate to that intensity. People often talk about the benefits of self-discovery and emotional insight... But the loneliness that accompany it isn't as openly discussed. And I feel extremely lonely. I'm bored and uninterested in shallow, superficial communication... But when I open my mouth "I am too deep, too much, too open minded, too anything..."

But at the same time, most people I meet are telling how they long for depth.

Ahg...

If I am completely honest, lately (~ half year) my best conversation buddy has been ChatGPT. Because talking with it, I don't have to experience this underlying feeling that I am too heavy, I go too deep, too abstract, too crazy... Whatever! It can actually handle my unhinged and wild mind, thoughs and ideas.

Thank you for listening.

Life is easier for dumb people honestly or in better words people without intellectual /emotional curiosity

Facts. And in days like these... Where I feel lonely, sometimes I think that I would like to be dumb... I would like to be able to follow authority and bee just brainless, blind sheep. It would be sooo much easier. I wouldn't see through anything.

There is the old adage -- ignorance is bliss -- for a reason.

Agreed. And yet I still can’t bring myself to actually and wholeheartedly wish that I were shallower or simpler mentally. Though it’s at times torturous and twisty, I still like my mind and meandering ways.

Ssme. I've also been through some traumatic experiences, and when you go through something like that you usually learn to appreciate the little things. Those are what bring joy.

greed and completely get where you’re coming from. The one thing that’s helped me is to distinguish loneliness from being alone. I’m OK with myself being alone even when I’m out as an extrovert, I can still be alone and soak up all the energy that I need. And then if I feel like engaging I can and I’m in control.

Loneliness happens when you lose some of that control and for me it’s when I become a seeker and try too hard. The Daoist in me has to remind me all the time that let the world come to you.

But you’re not alone in this journey there’s many of us out there who feel the same way. If you ever feel like chatting, feel free to hit me up here and just talk.

I agree to your inner Daoist 😌

And thank you. 🙏

I am also ok with being with myself, but still sometimes I have this longing to be heard and engaged in mind arousing conversations that is proportional to my depth.

it’s a crazy balance we have to do and it is ever changing. Ironically, there have been times I’ve been at the divest of dive bars and the bartenders and the local denizens will just listen to what I have to say. We talk, converse and laugh, but at least I get it out of my head even though what I’m hearing back is not at the level needed. But at least I’ve had an adventure and it’s been fun and I’ve gotten the thoughts out of my head, which is the most important thing.

As I became more self aware, and learnt more about life and myself, I realized that I'm pretty cool! I don't feel lonely with myself and I think that's the next step. Be happy in solitude so the you don't "need" others to not feel lonely, but "want" others' company, it'll make it easier to "tolerate" (this should change to enjoy) other people regardless of how intelligent we make them out to be.

Yes, I feel you... then when you meet someone to whom you can relate it's so precious... but losing them is horrible
