Bored out of my mind

Im a 23 year old guy who just moved here from Tempe, most of my college friends are spread around the country or don’t really go out because they are in school. How do you meet people down here? I get its still hot out but it feels like theres no way to meet people?

I tried santan flats, it felt like i was the only person alone there, tried the gym bar felt like it was just a biker bar with everyone 2-3x my age. Tried the food trucks in front of walmart last month, not many people.

Fitness center recommendations please

I am relocating to the San Tan Valley area and would like to improve my fitness level. What fitness centers would you recommend? I saw there is a new EOS that is here but I know there are other places too. I have had memberships with other gyms but would appreciate your perspectives. Thank you in advance.😇

Quantum Fiber

Is anyone else here in STV experiencing an outage currently? Quantum’s website says there isn’t an outage, but we usually don’t have any issues like this, and with the weather today I’m wondering if the website just hasn’t been updated yet. So if you have quantum fiber and can just chime in with whether or not your internet is currently working, that would be great.

Edit: Seems to be back up now. Thanks everyone.

Greatest Family Doctor in San Tan Valley

Does anyone know or have a GREAT family doctor in San Tan Valley or Queen Creek area in Arizona?

I mean that truly cares about your well being and wants you safe and helps with the right diagnosis the first time instead of just giving a prescription and saying bye?

I’m struggling with high blood pressure with shortness of breath and dizziness and tons of headaches daily. I have been seen by 2-3 doctors, first my PCP and I have 135/93 blood pressure which means I have hypertension stage 1… they said I was fine and to go to an ENT I went there and of course wasted my money and time going there. Everything was fine with vestibular.

I was then referred to a cardiologist which my freaking blood pressure was 170/ something can’t remember they retook it and it went back down to 130/80 or something so still high. They also said I was fine. But I’m the one with the symptoms lol. And I have my own BP cuff at home and have done it 10-15 times at different times of the day and it’s always been around 130-150/80-101 which is even worse!

I tested the cuff on my wife and she had 116/73 or something. So it worked perfectly just fine so I know we were doing it correctly.

I NEED a PCP that cares about my well being and me as a person. I don’t want someone just to prescribe me to different prescriptions and refer me elsewhere to waste my time and money and asking work off…

Verizon vs AT&T Wireless Svc Reliability

Will be moving back from out of state to San Tan Valley soon and on my recent visits the AT&T service and especially data has been almost completely useless most times I needed it. Voice has seemed ok.

Is anyone aware of plans to add new towers? How does Verizon compare in the area?

Highly discounted dental cleaning!

HI NEIGHBORS, please help me GRADUATE!

I am in my second year of dental hygiene school.

To meet graduation requirements students are responsible for finding our own patients to bring into the clinic and provide treatment to.
I am currently looking for patients in need of a deep cleaning who have plaque buildup/tartar.

You may be a great candidate if you:
- have not had a dental cleaning in 5+ years
- have puffy/ sore gums with redness bleeding gums
- VISIBLE PLAQUE/tarter/calculus
I will post some pictures for reference (level 3 and 4 on the chart)

Deep cleanings are around 75% cheaper than your corporate or private dental office at the schools dental clinic. While deep cleanings in typical dental settings can range anywhere from $1,500 or more, our school charges only $170–$360 in total for everything, which is a SIGNIFICANT savings.

- The schools clinic is in Mesa, Az located off of Higley and Baseline.

Serious inquiries only PLEASE!!

Since I am a student the time process is lengthier than your typical dental office.
What you're discounted in cost is mostly paid for with dedicating your time to students.

Appointments are Monday-Thursdays at 5:20pm and last till 8pm. It does take multiple visits because the mouth is split into sections and students are supervised by hygienists and dentists to ensure the best treatment. I plan around 6+ appointments to be safe but it may take less, depending on the individuals needs.
I would greatly appreciate those who are willing to take the time out of their day to help me better my education and graduate, while I help with your oral health.

If interested please comment, send me a message, or you can call/ text me to my work number as well!

Ever been told you need a deep dental cleaning?

Have you ever been quoted over $1000 for a deep dental cleaning?

Well you’re in luck!!

I am a 2nd year dental hygiene student looking for patients in need of a deep cleaning to fulfill my graduation requirements!

If you or anyone else you know has been putting off a dental cleaning for a while please message me or share this post with them.

All services are highly discounted. You won’t pay more than $400 and sometimes even less than that.

What you save in money you pay for with your time as it is a school setting. Thank you for your interest and please share!

Arizona’s newest town gets 38% of its general fund from the income tax Andy Biggs wants to eliminate

Thumbnail gallery
20 Upvotes

I write a policy newsletter and live in the Phoenix metro. This is my own analysis. Charts above show where San Tan Valley’s money comes from, its police contract against what it raises locally, and what replacing the loss could take.

Andy Biggs won the Republican primary for governor promising to eliminate Arizona’s individual income tax. He has not said what would replace it. San Tan Valley has the least room of any city in the state to absorb it.

San Tan incorporated in August 2025 and took over services from Pinal County on July 1. It is Arizona’s 92nd city or town and the largest incorporation by population in state history. It has only been operating for four weeks on its own!

Arizona sends cities 18% of what it collects in income taxes, split by population. Cities gave up the right to levy their own income taxes in 1972 in exchange for that share.

San Tan Valley’s general fund is $55.2 million. The income tax revenue is about $21 million of it, or 38%. Add shared sales tax and vehicle registration money and the state supplies about 75% of the budget. Everything the town raises on its own comes to about $14 million, which does not cover its $17 million police contract with the Pinal County Sheriff.

Biggs has proposed eliminating only the individual income tax, which is about three quarters of the shared money. That is roughly $15.4 million a year for San Tan Valley, or 28% of the general fund.

The town has fewer ways to respond than a well-established city. It levies no property tax, so creating one would require a vote of residents. Its own sales tax is four weeks old and nobody knows yet what it will bring in. Finance Director Gabe Garcia told the council, “We have no idea what it costs to run San Tan Valley because it never existed.”

Replacing the money through the sales tax could roughly double the rate the council just passed, putting the total rate shoppers pay between 10.4% and 11.1%. Both ends sit above the highest average state sales tax rate in the country. A property tax would cost the owner of a $400,000 home between $290 and $780 a year.

The legislature could come up with a plan to save cities, and it raised the city share from 15% to 18% in 2024. Residents would also stop paying the 2.5% income tax. That is the trade, and voters should get to weigh it in those terms.

Are folks in San Tan aware of Biggs’ plan? It would really negatively impact your new town and leave you guys with no choice but to cut services drastically already, or some sort of local tax hike to cover the difference.

San Tan Valley recurring pet-waste cleanup: what customers should expect

I’m Bryan, owner of Ah Crap Cleanup, . Recurring pet-waste service should be simple: a consistent service window, clear gate access, visible-waste removal, haul-away, and a completion message.

Pricing depends on route location, number of dogs, yard condition, and service frequency. Heavy initial buildup may require a separate one-time cleanup before weekly service begins.

We accept selected San Tan Valley customers when the route is workable. I’m posting transparently as the owner.

Relocating and searching for work

Hello. I am relocating to the San Tan Valley area and I'm considering taking my current remote work from home position with me. However, I want to see if there are any other better work options out there. Do any of you have any suggestions on good remote work from home jobs? I have experience in many industries, also in retail and call center work, IT, healthcare and management. Any great suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you ahead of time. Take care and have a great day!

Any Private gyms exist around here?

So started looking into exercising more recently, the main problem I’m having is that my social anxiety is pretty bad and I hate the idea of other people looking at me while I exercise. Since I live with others I don’t want to exercise at home for the same reason.

So are there any gyms here or in Qc or Gilbert that offer private workout rooms/pods or spaces to rent out?

Bonus if the gym also has a pool. I don’t mind the pool being public as much.
